Wealth Management Counsel – Private Client & Estate Strategy
Location: Boston, Massachusetts (Hybrid Flexibility Available)
Compensation: $345,000 – $435,000 base + bonus + premium benefits
Schedule: Full-Time
Overview
A leading global law firm with a premier private client practice is seeking an experienced Wealth Management Counsel to join its sophisticated estate and tax advisory group. The practice works closely with high-net-worth individuals, founders, executives, and family enterprises on complex wealth preservation and transfer strategies.
This role offers exposure to high-value planning matters that intersect with corporate transactions, liquidity events, and multi-generational wealth structuring within a highly collaborative advisory environment.
Role Responsibilities
This attorney will advise clients on advanced estate planning and private wealth strategies, including:
- Designing and implementing estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax strategies
- Managing complex trust and estate administration matters from planning through execution
- Advising fiduciaries, trustees, and family offices on governance, structuring, and risk considerations
- Preparing financial and tax analyses related to wealth transfer and succession planning
- Supporting business owners and executives on estate implications tied to corporate transactions and liquidity events
- Drafting and reviewing trusts, wills, and other estate planning instruments
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
- Active bar admission in a U.S. jurisdiction or eligibility for admission
- 5+ years of experience in estate planning, trust administration, and tax-focused legal work
- Strong drafting, analytical, and client advisory capabilities
- Ability to independently manage complex private client matters
Preferred Experience
- LL.M. in Taxation, Estate Planning, or related field
- Experience advising founders, executives, or family offices during liquidity events (M&A, IPO, etc.)
- Familiarity with closely held business structures and family governance planning
- Business development experience or portable client relationships
