Litigation Associate – Complex Commercial & Financial Disputes

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid/Onsite)
Compensation: $225,000 – $245,000 base + comprehensive benefits
Schedule: Full-Time


Overview

A nationally recognized litigation firm is seeking a mid-level Litigation Associate to join its high-impact disputes practice. The firm is known for handling sophisticated, high-value matters for corporate, financial, and individual clients, often involving complex legal, regulatory, and commercial issues with significant visibility.

This is a hands-on role within a trial-driven environment where associates are given meaningful responsibility early and work closely with senior attorneys on all phases of litigation.


Role Responsibilities

The associate will contribute to a wide range of litigation matters from early case assessment through trial and potential appeal, including:

  • Supporting case development across all stages of litigation under partner guidance
  • Drafting substantive legal documents including complaints, motions, briefs, and memoranda
  • Performing in-depth legal research to support case strategy and argument development
  • Handling discovery processes such as document review, interrogatories, and requests for production
  • Assisting with depositions, hearings, and trial preparation activities
  • Engaging with clients, experts, and opposing counsel as part of case coordination
  • Contributing to overall case strategy discussions and litigation planning

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic performance
  • Active admission to a U.S. state bar or eligibility for admission
  • Approximately 3–5 years of experience in a law firm litigation setting
  • Strong writing, research, and analytical capabilities
  • Ability to manage multiple active matters in a deadline-driven environment

Preferred Experience

  • Exposure to financial disputes, securities matters, or complex commercial litigation
  • Experience drafting motions, briefs, and other court submissions
  • Participation in depositions, hearings, or trial preparation
  • Experience working in lean, fast-paced litigation teams
