Junior Litigation Associate Attorney (Class of 2023–2024)

Location: New York, NY (On-Site)
Compensation: $235,000 – $260,000 base + bonus eligibility + full benefits
Schedule: Full-Time


Overview

A well-established, full-service law firm with a strong national and international footprint is seeking a Junior Litigation Associate to join its commercial disputes practice. The firm is known for handling complex, high-stakes litigation matters for a diverse client base that includes multinational corporations, growth-stage companies, and senior executives.

This role offers hands-on exposure to sophisticated commercial disputes, close mentorship from senior attorneys, and meaningful responsibility across all stages of litigation.


Role Responsibilities

The Associate will support a broad range of complex commercial litigation matters and will be involved throughout the litigation lifecycle, including:

  • Conducting pre-litigation analysis, fact development, and case strategy assessments
  • Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, and other substantive legal filings
  • Managing discovery processes, including document review, ESI, interrogatories, and depositions
  • Assisting with case strategy development alongside senior attorneys and subject matter experts
  • Supporting trial preparation, hearings, conferences, and settlement discussions
  • Maintaining clear communication with clients and contributing to case strategy alignment

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic performance
  • Active bar admission in a U.S. jurisdiction or eligibility to obtain admission
  • 2–3 years of litigation experience in commercial or general dispute resolution
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Prior law firm experience preferred

  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to anticipate opposing arguments
  • Exposure to mediation, arbitration, or other alternative dispute resolution methods
