CNC Machinist / Setup Operator
Location: White Salmon, WA
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site
Compensation: $52,000 – $100,000 + Bonus & Benefits
A growing aerospace and manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Setup Operator to support precision machining and production operations. This position is ideal for a hands-on machinist with strong setup experience who can work independently while maintaining high quality and production standards in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Setup, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling machines and related production equipment
- Program and adjust CNC machines to support precision manufacturing requirements
- Work with HAAS, OKK, Okuma, and similar CNC platforms
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
- Select tooling, fixtures, and machine settings for optimal production efficiency
- Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure parts meet specifications
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, scrap, and rework
- Coordinate with production and operations teams to meet manufacturing schedules and deadlines
- Assist with equipment maintenance, machine troubleshooting, and process optimization
- Operate manual machining equipment including mills and lathes as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of CNC machining and setup experience
- Strong background operating and setting up HAAS CNC machines preferred
- Experience with OKK and Okuma equipment is highly valued
- Ability to perform machine setups independently from start to finish
- Knowledge of CNC programming, tooling, and machining processes
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading and precision measurement tools
- Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and shop best practices
- Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented production environment
Preferred Background
- Aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing experience
- Exposure to LEAN manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
- Basic welding or fabrication experience is a plus
- Vocational training, trade school certification, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
