CNC Machinist / Setup Operator

Location: White Salmon, WA
Schedule: Full-Time | On-Site
Compensation: $52,000 – $100,000 + Bonus & Benefits

A growing aerospace and manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Setup Operator to support precision machining and production operations. This position is ideal for a hands-on machinist with strong setup experience who can work independently while maintaining high quality and production standards in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setup, operate, and troubleshoot CNC milling machines and related production equipment
  • Program and adjust CNC machines to support precision manufacturing requirements
  • Work with HAAS, OKK, Okuma, and similar CNC platforms
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
  • Select tooling, fixtures, and machine settings for optimal production efficiency
  • Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure parts meet specifications
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, scrap, and rework
  • Coordinate with production and operations teams to meet manufacturing schedules and deadlines
  • Assist with equipment maintenance, machine troubleshooting, and process optimization
  • Operate manual machining equipment including mills and lathes as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of CNC machining and setup experience
  • Strong background operating and setting up HAAS CNC machines preferred
  • Experience with OKK and Okuma equipment is highly valued
  • Ability to perform machine setups independently from start to finish
  • Knowledge of CNC programming, tooling, and machining processes
  • Strong understanding of blueprint reading and precision measurement tools
  • Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards and shop best practices
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented production environment

Preferred Background

  • Aerospace, defense, or high-precision manufacturing experience
  • Exposure to LEAN manufacturing or continuous improvement environments
  • Basic welding or fabrication experience is a plus
  • Vocational training, trade school certification, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
